New Cat

December 3, 2008 | Uncategorized | No Comments

I have a new cat… his name is Chiado (Shadow)… he is destroying the hordes of rodents that have infested my house. He is becoming victorious. The roaches have run away too.

I also added a link to my song site to the right below Allie’s Art Page. Chapman James…

Oh, and enjoy this… we have always been such nicely behaved targets, we Mormons:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

November 26, 2008 | Uncategorized | Comments [4]

I’ll be at Melissa & the Kid’s house for dinner, then I must run by Beth’s, then I must mosey over to Bill Sr’s… does anyone else need for me to stop by on Thanksgiving?

With that I’ll simply leave you all with this desert:

PUMPKIN PIE

OR if you would rather have Thanksgiving controversy, here’s an article my friend Cynthia from Indiana sent to me to show how elitists with LOTS of knowledge have no idea what wisdom is:

Here are some from the last few months

Remarkable Baby!

November 16, 2008 | Uncategorized | Comments [4]

Chris and his wife, Esther, came down from Oklahoma, just so Chris could bless his grandchild, Tristan James Koptan.  Of course, it was a beautiful blessing, and Tristan didn’t make a sound.  The Elders didn’t even have to bounce him.

At home, he put on quite a performance for us!  Jani put him on the floor (now mind you, he’s only exactly eight weeks old), and she put her hands against his feet.  He started pushing off immeditely.  She didn’t push him.  And he inched his way across the blanket.  Next!  She put him on his back, and he struggled and struggled…trying to push over and flip himself to his stomach.  Couldn’t quite manage that.  So, she put him on his stomach again, and that little booger didn’t quit until he flipped himself over to his back.

Now….I may not be remembering right….but I didn’t have a baby (not even Bill) do that until they were three months old.

Go ahead.  Correct me if I’m wrong, and tell me what remarkable things your babies have done…that I have forgotten.

What luck!!

Carmen has always been so lucky at garage sales.  And evidently Jason, too.  He found a washer and dryer and a perfect 52″ TV and a computer desk for $150.00.  And then Carmen found an almost new sofa and matching loveseat (smaller sofa) and a whole set of Christmas dishes (plus one or two other items) all for GET THIS!!

$50.00!!

Luis and I gave them our diningroom suite.  You know….the one that is practically antique.

They are fast filling up their house with the necessary furniture that they need.  They also found a table and chairs for something ridiculously cheap. I don’t remember the price on that.

Jealousy and Children

November 15, 2008 | Uncategorized | Comments [6]

My kids’ school have a Colonial day every year. This morning Dylan and Ryder had to put on their costumes for school to celebrate. Ryder had chosen an indian costume and I preselected a pilgrim costume for Dylan (Ryder constantly complains that Dylan copies him so I avoid that scenario at all costs).

Dylan takes one look at Ryder’s costume and throws his on the floor. “Why does Ryder get to be an Indian and I have to be a Plumber??? IT’S NOT FAIR!!”

I’m so glad I didn’t know it was happening!!  I would have been frantic!

So sorry for your suffering, poor fellow.  Carmen and I had an Arby’s a couple of months ago.  I wanted one, because it had been a long time.  I just got the Arby with Swiss.  GOOD GRIEF!

Robert I, (the Bruce) King of Scotland

November 13, 2008 | Uncategorized | No Comments

I just followed one of our lines that led to the above.  He was born July 11, 1274, and is famous because he restored Scottish Independence from England.  I don’t know if we have a little dab of his blood or not.  I only know that he couldn’t be attached to any of our line, unless he was kin (I think???)

I forget where I started??  I’ll report later.

Beautiful Home

November 13, 2008 | Uncategorized | No Comments

Luis took Tia and Jani and Jordan, and the baby, of course, to Jacksonville today.  Tia’s mother drove down from Cochran to pick Tia up (because it was a good two hours less for Pat to drive) and they all saw Jason and Carmen’s beautiful new home.

Luis says it’s just gorgeous.  Jordan is thrilled, and will have her own room when she goes home after Christmas.  Teyla is so very HAPPY there.  She has her own room, at last, and doesn’t have to sleep with her parents.

Its a BIG house, and Jordan says that some of the rooms have part wallpaper, with big pictures on it.  She says it’s lovely, too.  Jordan loves her room.  It’s empty now, because we have her furniture here, but when she leaves, the furniture goes with her, and Luis and I will buy another set of bedroom furniture to put in the middle room.

THEREFORE’  WELCOME ALL VISITORS AFTER CHRISTMAS!!  Come down now, and we’ll have room for you.

Also, I’ll persuade Luis to shell out the dough, and we’ll keep the rooms cool as possible for you!!

Please remember Carmen and Jason in your prayers ALWAYS, that he will keep his job, and they can stay in this wonderful home.

Luis said that Jason likes his job very much, and he knows what he’s doing.  He’s learned a lot.

And his work is so close that he can go home for lunch (although I’m not sure Carmen likes that).  I never liked your Dad going home for lunch.  It split my day in half, somehow.

We are Royalty plus….

I won’ take the time to list all that I’ve discovered on Newfamily.  The list would be too long, so let me just tell you that my 70th GGrandfather is Eneius Rufus (The Quester) Octavius Chancellor; Emperor of the Roman Empire from 276  BC….I started with my gggrandfather Thomas Richard Chapman, who was married to Elizabeth White Parkerson Grimmer.  I went from there…..and it was AMAZING the work that others have done.

I’m tired of writing down the names now.  There are kings and princes and princesses and queens and barons and chancellors and knights and on and on and on.  Y:es, there is no doubt about it.  One of our ancestors is King James I, Stewart of Scotland.  and then later Edward III-King of England.  Edward I “Longshanks” King of England reigned from 1239 until 1307.  Then the 20th Great Grandfather is Phillippe III, King of France from 1245 until 1285.  John Lackland 21sr GGfather reigned as the King of England from 1166-1216.  22nd GGrandfather is Henry II-King of England Plantagenet; Then there’s 23rd GGfather Alfonse IX Fernandez, KingofLeon and Castile from 1171-1230.  thirty-first GGrandfather is Hugh Capet - King of France from 900-966.  It goes on and on and on.  41st GGrandfather if Tonantius I Ferrerlus, King of Rome, Italy from 418 to476.  51st GGrandfather is Clodius III King of the Franks - before 264.  52nd GGfather was Bartherus, King of the Franks from 238-272.  Kilderic - King of the Franks from 212 to 253.  Then Sunno was king of the Franks 137-213 (54th GGrandfather)58th GGrandfather was King of the Britons - 74-125.

On the 59th GGrandfather we get to Arviragus - Britons King of Druid; King of Britain 74BC to 15BC.

Now look at this  60th GGrandfather is none other than Tiberius Claudius Caesar, Emperor of Rome in 42 BC;

Then 61st GGrandfather is Claudius Drusus Nero from 38BS until 9BS.  Next is Agrippa Caesar and then Tiberius Claudius Nero from 63BC until  33BC.  The 69th if Gaius II (Julius Caesar Gaius) ruling over the Roman Empire well wait….He’s born 154 BC  and dies 84BC.  So he’s emperor sometimes during that period of time.

Well is ten minutes until 3:00AM…better go to bed.

What a day!

Yesterday, Saturday, with Maria’s help, and two of the brothers from church, Carmen and Jason got a 24 ft. trailer packed to the ceiling and two cars packed, on the road to their new home in Jacksonville!

Everybody was really tired.  It was like a FULL move, because that’s exactly what it was.  It entailed getting all of their stuff (and that was plenty) out of our house, and out of our garage, and out of their storage rental packed and on it’s way.  Jason drove the trailer, with Carmen behind, and Maria trailing a little later.  At the new home they had help from Tony’s household (especially Corey, Amber’s husband) and some more brothers from the new Ward that they will be in.

Tia is here, and we’ll take her to Jacksonville on Thursday to meet her mother there (from Cochran, Georgia, which is where Tia lives now.)

Tia was a blessing.  She brought all kind of food, and fed us through the ordeal, plus taking care of the baby a lot.

It’s done.  I had a delayed reaction, and cried all through Sacrament and Relief Society today.  We’re going to miss them more than I can say.

We’re left with Jordan (until Christmas) and Jani and the baby for as long as, perhaps, February.

Bill…watch for Lainie.

She needs money for food, if she can just get her car fixed enough to go to Texas.  They’re expecting her Monday, and she won’t make it until Tuesday, because her car is messed up and it’s going to cost.

She called us, but I’m not sure what we can do right now, because we’ve shelled out so much money helping them move.

I think I’ll call Buddy and Beth tomorrow and ask them if they could lend her a few dollars.   She refuses to call her Dad.  He gets all mad, and yells at her that she’s not spending her money wisely.

Texas city??

November 5, 2008 | Uncategorized | Comments [6]

Okay, I finally found a roommate and an apartment to rent for the 6 months I am down in Texas. I found a roommate “Consuelo”, she is 45 and we seem to have a lot in common. She is only charging me $375 a month with a $200 deposit. I will still have my apartment back here in Birmingham. Dad, wouldn’t let me give it up. I guess he was afraid if I gave it up I wouldn’t come back from Texas. At least this way, I can decide in 6 months what I want to do. The apartment is in Texas City. I don’t know much about this city except their are alot of plants (and I don’t mean my kind of plants) there. They kinda look like oil refineries, I don’t know. Anyway, I am trying to sublease out my apartment. It shouldn’t be too hard, I am only asking $500 a month which includes electricity and water. The apartments wouldn’t let me turn off the water or the electricity while I am gone and the bill is just as much even when I am not here because they said they take the average of the apartments.

Okay on the polls

Wow! i suppose I am surprised. I didn’t think Barack had a chance. Well, we seem to pick democrats every so often. Lets see what he can do. I really don’t think the racial thing will be that big a deal. He doesn’t talk like a black person and his Mom is white, so its not like we elected a pure black person. Let’s see what you can do BARACK!! They say he has been groomed all his life, lets see if he can stand the pressure. Certainly he is a more eloquent speaker than McCain. I want to see if he can stand up to the pressure.

I have to go back down to Galveston for 4 more months Saturday. The manager asked as a favor, he is giving me a raise if I will do this. I found a house to rent with a young student girl in Alvin. Its month to month , only $400 a month. I can handle that. My lease here is up in april. I told Dad I would just break my lease early and put my furniture in storage , but he is adament that I come back so I have to keep this apartment as well. The apartment won’t even let me turn off my power or water its part of the lease. The water bill will continue to be $80 a month even when I am not here because they take the average of each apartment and add it to the rent , which is why my rent is $800 a month. dad wants me to keep this apartment till the end of 2009. But, hopefully by the time my lease is up in april he will realize that is just too much for me. Hopefully, my power bill will go down. They said I could turn off all breakers except the refridgerator. what to do with my plants though. I have a million???
