CIRCUS

circus was great with lexie and James. they were great and they enjoyed it. James fell asleep for about 30 min, but Lexie stayed awake. They ate and ate and ate, cotton candy, popcorn, Icee’s, and more. took them for ice cream after. They are well sugared up for Crystal and Jayme, (sorry) :)

concern is: the circus is nothing like it use to be. they did not have much of the animal acts like they use to when my kids were little. alot of acrobats and clowns and shows, I saw alot of the kids getting pretty board. oh well, guess the circus is on a budget also. but they sure ask alot for the plastic light up toys!!!

  4. I’m so glad to hear a “happy” report of grandparents taking grandchildren to the circus. Maybe if Luis and I could have afforded to take some of our grandchildren, we would have had a better experience than I had the ONE time I mustered together enough money to take a few of my CHILDREN to the circus. I don’t remember which one of the varmints they were now. ALL I REMEMBER is that NO ONE was the least bit interested in the elephants and lions and tigers and clowns and horses with the pretty ladies doing tricks on their backs, and the flying trapese artists, etc. Oh, no, no, no!!
All I could hear was, “I want popcorn, I want lemonade, I want snowballs (shaved ice with flavored syrup), I want candy, I want, I want, I want!!! Oh yes, the peanuts, and the candied apples, and all the rest of the stuff that was also on parade in FRONT of the elephants and lions and tigers and clowns and horses with the pretty ladies doing tricks on their backs.
And I had barely enough money to get us all into the circus. I didn’t think about all of the stuff they would want. I thought they would be so enraptured by the marvelous sights they had never seen before that there would be no thought of all of the “sweets and eats”. Silly me. I had promised them an ice cream when the circus was over.
I finally jerked everybody up, and dragged them out of the tent, crossed Third Avenue, found the orange van (Ben must have been born by then), and drove home with everybody sobbing and howling and crying.
Does anybody remember that incident? Who was involved in that escapade?
Yes, It’s better to take your grandchildren (and with plenty of money) and NOT YOUR CHILDREN (with no money).
    I’ve lost my “Birthday Book”.
Is Lexie going to have a birthday this Saturday? Or close to this Saturday?
Well, I’m always late with birthday cards, but I think I have the perfect one to send, even if it’s late.
