Sacramento, CA

March 16, 2009 | Nostalgia

I remember this house well. The tree in front was just a twig in 1968 though:) The mapper does not show a 7636, it skips from 7634 to 7638. This is the house though because Mitchell and Luwanna Elkins house is definitely the one on the left side if you are facing it. There were no houses on the other side of the street, it was just an open field all the way to the creek. I remember standing out in the middle of that field one night to see the most amazing Lunar Eclipse.

  2. Bud, I don’t know where you got that photo, but Luis and I believe that was our house in Sacramento. The garage. The little stoop, the windows. Of course, that was forty years ago, and those trees could have been planted and grown to that height. The house to the left could have been the Elkin’s house. Yes. I think it was our little house. I do.

  3. And it isn’t all trashed and rundown, according to bad reports that I heard.

  4. That tree may have been the twig that I have a picture of all of us standing under it before we left for church one day, soon after arriving in Sacramento…and before the arrival of Tony. Yes, Tony was born and brought to that little house.
Very interesting to see house it looks today, and I’m convinced that that is the house. Don’t anybody bust my bubble.
I don’t remember the eclipse, Bud. You have an amazing memory. You were only seven years old.
