I enjoyed my conversation with Jacob. From so many teenagers, you just get an "uh-huh and yea" but he filled me in on all the details of what he's doing, and what his goals are. I'm glad he's still having a little music lesson every day, and I was amazed to hear that he could actually teach himself from home through that Indiana University High School program. He knows he has to pull some pretty high grades to get in a good college.

Bud, I wonder if your kids would be interested in seeing their father when he was a little kid. I'm going to bring that dvd that Alex has loaned me. There isn't much on it of you. Just a quick flick of you walking up the sidewalk in front of the apartment at Elyton village. And one of Bill knocking you down away from a fence at Elyton village. There are some shots of you and lainie and Bill in Charlotte, north Carolina. And of you and Bill running in and out of the house on Leone Drive, and a quick one of you waving good-bye to Aunt Lucille from the station wagon when we pull away on our way to California. Do you remember these
movies that Pop made? He made them with the old camera that I brought from Germany, and at one time they were pretty good, but they were left to get too much sun exposure. On, yes. You must remember the quick shot of Luis giving you a haircut immediately after he came home from Thailand. He had not been home thirty minutes, before he had you and Bill up on a stool outside giving you a haircut. Pop would never leave the camera running but a couple of seconds at a time. I don't know why he did that. You could never really see much if you so much as blinked.

We had a birthday party for Jacob at his mother's house. Just family & his girlfriend Kim. All he wanted was a steak dinner for everyone and a few Xbox games. We also sat and watched videos from 1996 & 97 featuring a 5 year old Lainey Beth, a 4 year old Jacob Ryan and a 1 year old Adam-Michael Hunter Polhemus. Ethan was sad not to be featured in these films but laughed louder than all of us at the antics provided. Especially a 'Star Studded Princess Alaina', a Batman wielding prankster called 'Jakers' and a chuckling Adam-Michael that was so cute that Ethan wanted to "squeeze him till he popped". I think there was more to that desire to 'squeeze' Adam than merely his cuteness. I think in Ethan's mind, finally here was an Adam he could 'take down, man'.
