Sister Scott

Luis and I received news this evening that a very sweet sister that we were acquainted with for the past three years, while we have been serving as workers in the Orlando Temple, has passed away.
It was truly devastating news. It was only three months ago that she was diagnosed with Leukemia. I wasn’t aware at any time that she even felt ill. She was always so kind, and so concerned about ME!
Sister Scott was married to the brother of the Apostle, Elder Richard G. Scott. She died last Tuesday, and we have just now heard about it, because we didn’t go to the temple last Tuesday, as I was still in the hospital.
I thought that, with treatment, she could live for several more years.
I think my grandfather, Daddy Mac (McLure) died soon after he was diagnosed with that disease.

It’s rather strange, because Elder Scott flew out from Utah, and gave Sister Scott two blessings. In both blessings, he said that she would be completely healed. In other words, they were “healing blessings”, and yet she died. What is one to think? Are we to understand that when blessings are given that they are not necessarily for this earthly probation, but are perhaps, for the life in the hereafter. Certainly, Sister Scott is now completely healed. She has no more sickness, no more pain. Her body is restored perfectly.
Remember the two times that I saw my mother…first in 1962 (just a year and a half after her death). She looked to be 44 years old still, and appeared in the black dress, black pumps, and white pearls around her neck. Twelve years later, in 1974, when she appeared in the dream, she looked to be 25 years old, and she was dressed in a white gown. That was after I had done her ordinance work.
I’m sure that Sister Scott is now young and beautiful.
