Great Hippo Birdie!
December 19, 2008 | Birthdays
I hosted a Singer-Songwriter’s night at Barrister’s in Hoover on my Birthday. I was thrilled to not only have 20 fabulous Songwriters come in and play for me on my Birthday, My 2 sisters Brenda & Beth came along with Seay Polhemus and an old friend of mine David Smith who drove in from Atlanta to play. Beth & Brenda got me a great Nose Pickin card along with some fresh home made candies…. it was a great night and I appreciated them so much:)

Why did we ever leave Birmingham? I can’t think of any good reasons anymore, except …yes? and what? and, ok? and yes? and what else? alright? So?m
But I miss so much GOOD STUFF!! Christopher’s ballgames.
and Buddy’s stuff! and other grandchildren’s things,
and I miss all that goes on in Missouri, and in Texas.
Oh, Well.
I’m glad there are enough of you to get together and enjoy each other. Buddy…you must be popular to be so admired!
Well…you have a mother who admires you tremendously.

Brenda and I had a great time! It sure was impressive to see all the singers coming in and waving and hollering for Buddy. What fantastic talent too! We really enjoyed meeting Mel (poor girl, she would have been the odd girl out if Brenda and I hadn’t shown up!
Let us know when the next one is – it would really be fun if we could stay a little longer too!

Beth,
It was a BLAST having you ,Brenda & Seay there. Next time we’ll just go to one where I am participating instead of hosting. Then I’ll have more time to sit with you all:)
Mel knew a LOT of the people there. She just chooses to dislike many of them. I got a nasty email from her the next day for shaking the hand of a despised EX boyfriend that showed up to my public event and not paying enough attention to her while trying to run the show, mix the sound and juggle 20 songwriters and their fans. Thanks for trying to keep her ‘Odd Girl Out’ spirits up but, we’re talking “HIGH MAINTENANCE” female there:)
