HAPPY THANKSGIVING
November 26, 2008 | Uncategorized
I’ll be at Melissa & the Kid’s house for dinner, then I must run by Beth’s, then I must mosey over to Bill Sr’s… does anyone else need for me to stop by on Thanksgiving?
With that I’ll simply leave you all with this desert:
OR if you would rather have Thanksgiving controversy, here’s an article my friend Cynthia from Indiana sent to me to show how elitists with LOTS of knowledge have no idea what wisdom is:
Love,
Bud

I would love for you to have dropped in, Bud! It’s not fair that your Dad gets to have you in the waning years of our lives. Not fair, not fair! (sound of stomping feet).
However, I was thoughtful enough to have a lot of children, therefore, Dad and I spent our Thanksgiving in Jacksonville with Jason, Carmen, Jordan, Jani, Teyla, Tony, Austin, Amber, and Korey.
What a beautiful home! Carmen had filled up her house before with many, many pretty bric-a-brac and ornaments and decorations, and she showed wonderful taste in decorating her new home. It was lovely from one end to the other….and the meal was scrumptious. Jason served up the turkey in the style it was supposed to be by placing it on the table, and giving each one their desired piece. Carmen had bought some absolutely fabulous Christmas dishes at a garage sale (are we surprised) and she set the table so pretty. The dining room suite looks great in their house.
Well, I don’t want to go on bragging about the ONE child. I have equally bragged about the rest of you at one time or the other.
The fact is….I’m astounded at the wonderful talents that all of you have. Lainie with her marvelous knowledge of plants, and ability to create such beautiful gardens. Bill, who is savvy on every subject, can write better than most journalists, and is a CIVIL ENGINEER), which is enough said. Buddy…people got tired of hearing me brag about you ages ago.
By the way…are you still dating?? Same person?? Will we meet her when we go to Birmingham in April or May??
Beth…you have surprised me most of all. YOU…with egg all over your face, and a thousand hair pins holding your brownie cap down. I’ll never forget grabbing you back inside the house, and scrubbing your face and fixing your hair. What can I say about Beth, except you have no end of talents from cooking to sewing and computer knowledge, and your love of plants, and your beautiful home that you have decorated.
Brenda…Smart as a whip…and you have been the anchor of your family. You have held them up, and created a wonderful home through your hard work (from daylight until dark 24/7) since you were just a baby. And you, too, have such a pretty home. I have a feeling that your NEXT home is going to be REALLY SOMETHING. I can’t wait.
Tony…smartest guy in the computer world. He was just a baby starting out, and he made it though school, and many hardships, to where he is today. Still holding up his family. Still with many depending upon him…and he performs, and provides a wonderful home.
Ben…and Julie have a great house, and Ben could have scraped the world over and never found a better wife than Julie. She has a million talents. And Ben has a few, too. Among them is writing..and he’s getting to be quite the handy man about the house. And..of course…who is more fun in the world than Benster.
And Maria. I can’t say anything, or she’ll get mad.
We all know what she is capable of.

And I hope all of you had a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Be sure to post what you did on Thanksgiving.
I noticed the making of the pumpkin pie, Bud. I think Dad is the only one that puts a crust on TOP of his pumpkin pie.
It’s delicious with the added crust!

Hey Nana, Do you have enough room on here to brag about all your grandchildren and great-grandchildren? I think you can spare a couple of hours! lol

Nope, not dating…. it was a great step for me while it lasted but, she has other responsibilities that she alone needed to handle. Looks like Maria and I are the confirmed Bachelors of the family:) Lainie always has a boyfriend, somewhere…. somehow:)
Soooo Nana!!!! You have to at least brag on Crystal… she spent more time with you than almost any other grandchild over the course of her life:)!

I’ve been out of pocket for a few days. decorating the house for Christmas, and so I haven’t looked in on the Website until now, and noted your post, Crystal. Of course, I must brag about you… my precious, adorable, beautiful granddaughter who has amazed me because she is a nurse, and that really took me by surprise. I can just see you still, standing beside me in the car (because there was no such thing as seat belts and car seats when you were a baby) after I picked you up at your babysitter’s house, or wherever you were, and I would take you home with me, and sit you up in the old beat up high chair that had held up Carmen, Ben, and Maria…and I would give you cookies and milk. You have two incredible children, and incredible husband, and an incredible home. I couldn’t be prouder!!!
I think you’re the only grand-child that reads this Website, except Jordan. She’s a wonderful writer. Lainie-Beth is a wonderful writer, and a superb artist.
Yes….My grandchildren have loads of talents, too. Hillary is about the best hair stylist in Birmingham. And she’s going to have my fourth great grandchild!!
Say, Bill. Does Hillary know if it is a boy or girl yet?
Is it too early? She should know sometimes this month. I’m hoping we’ll get to Birmingham in time to see the baby. We’re going to Missouri in April or May. Luis wants to go in April, but I want to go in May…in hopes to see Hillary’s baby.
