A Teyla Funny

October 27, 2008 | Uncategorized

At Family Home Evening tonight, Luis asked Teyla to lead us in a Primary Song.  She chose “I Am A Child of God”.  They have been singing that a lot in Primary, getting ready for the Primary Program, which was given yesterday (Sunday).  She stood in front of us, and began very well.  She knew the words perfectly, until she got to , “I am a child of God, and He has sent me here, has given me an AWFUL (earthly) home, with parents kind and dear.  etc.”

She sang the rest of it beautifully, and we held back the snickers, and Carmen gently corrected her afterwards.

  2. OK, everyone near my cube at work is asking me if I’m alright as I can’t stop laughing. It is so much funnier too when you have seen Teyla in action as a singer:)

  3. My favorite is still Lainie’s “David ‘Mo’ Mckay” (when she was about four).

Also, a friend of ours years ago had their little girl singing “with parents kind of near.”

I’ve also heard “with parents kind of weird.”

I wish Beth would post some more Ryderisms. He’s getting too old to be funny; now he’s just annoying.

As are they all, as are they all.

(Mom, good thing I was never annoying, huh? Huh, Mom?)

  4. No, Bill. You were never annoying.

But recently, I was remembering something that you did when you were only two years old. It was just before Buddy was born. I was looking so depressed that morning. You came into the kitchen, where I was doing the dishes, and you jumped into the air in two perfect aerobesks (I won’t even
try to spell it), and you said: “Laugh, mommy, laugh”.

It was so cute. I swept you up in my arms and hugged you close, and I laughed and laughed.
