I talked to Beth today. She is feeling better and feels confident that she will heal. She says thank you for all the prayers. I feel so bad for her because she has spinal cord pain and unless you have had it before ( which I did when I broke my back) you cannot imagine the pain. I couldn’t take pain medicine when I had it because i am allergic to any type of pain medicine, but she has demerol and percocet which she says helps her. I go back to Galveston friday but I will keep in touch with Beth.

OK, this is not good. One surgery is hard enough to heal but, 2 makes it that much more difficult to recover. I’ll get her name on the role here, Mom.

I talked to Beth last night. She was at home, and in terrible pain. She could barely turn over in bed, but the burning in one of her arms, I forget which side, had quit. The doctor told her that he had done absolutely all that he could do for her. She was the first patient that he had ever had that required the second surgery, so she was a “first” for him. Please add Beth to your daily prayers. Bill, call the Houston Temple, and have her name put on the role. I guess Lainie will be gone from Birmingham again. I could call Birmingham, and I will, and have her name put on the role there. I am so concerned about this. At the same time, I do feel confident that she’s going to recover. She simply has to. I cannot conceive of alternative.
