The slacker blogger shows proof

September 16, 2008 | Photoblog

Well I tried to show proof of what has kept me so busy, but the system would not upload my picture of the kids room. {NOTE: Fixed by Big Bro. Bill]

I have painted, and decluttered and painted some more with chalkboard paint (which I do not recommend) and this has kept me from getting out reunion pictures and sending out thank you cards to fabulous aunts and birthday cards to our favorite aunt, I mean aunts :) (did we just say that?) So from now on I’ll be the perfect organized mom as soon as I stop eating meat and chocolate all the time and when I can quit picturing revenge on my husband who likes to leave dirty dishes and the salt shaker in the living room.

Lots of love to all, Julie

p.s. the kids have taken the back bedroom and we painted it sky blue with a cherry border and bright blue chalkboard squares. It has a low window in the room with some blue curtains and makes it look like a little midget room meant just for them.

  2. don’t feel bad. i can’t get pictures to post either. i did once but now it won’t work. it’s much too complicated for my feeble little brain or perhaps it’s the fact that after trying for 5 seconds i get frustrated and give up. patience has never been my strong suit. anyhoo, glad to hear ya’ll are doing well and the bedroom sounds really cool.

  3. Yeah we know who the favorite Aunt is… It’s ALWAYS Maria…

  4. Sorry about the dirty dishes and salt shaker in the living
room, Julie. By the time I got to Carmen, Ben, and Maria, I didn’t make them do much of anything around the house. Maria wasn’t affected by my lack of “urging”. The other two didn’t seem to seem much sense in cleaning up around their bedrooms at home, and I guess Ben is still sloppy in your house. I won’t comment about Carmen. She works at of the house, and it’s difficult, when you don’t have your own home, and when you’re crammed into one bedroom.

  5. Oh, and by the way, i can’t wait to see the kid’s bedroom when we make our trip up your way next April or May. We want to go after the Baby is about two or three months old.
You are really going to have your hands FULL, then Julie. You think TWO ARE DIFFICULT.

  6. aND…BEFORE YOU GET BACK ON YOUR FEET….HERE COME YOUR IN-LAW’S. i think we want to be there for little Ben’s birthday.

    Are you feeling okay nowadays??

Jani is only about two weeks away from the due date, and she is all baby straight out front. From the back, she doesn’t look pregnant at all.

  7. Julie I am sure your did a better job painting then me. I painted my bedroom furniture last week and got the paint all over the carpet and it was black painit. I tryed to clean it with a shampooer and that only smeared it worse and then I tryed spraying bleach on it and it that just caused bleach spots all over the carpet. I felt like an episode from “I love Lucy”, it just kept getting worse by the minute. I doubt home depot would ever hire me in the paint department or the flooring department for that matter. I am sure you did a much better job.

  9. Julie…Nice work! I’ve got a room or two that need painting, wanna come down for a visit…in your spare time? (just kidding, of course) I’m sure your kids LOVE it!!

Note to Lainie…have you tried removing the carpet stain(s) with hydrogen peroxide? Just pour it, leave it sit for a minute or two and then blot it up with paper towels or an old towel that you can throw away. It worked for me many years ago when my DS dropped dark brown paint onto my beige carpet. Anyway, maybe you could give it a try.

  10. Glass cleaner is a miracle carpet cleaner. it’s a little know custodial trick. justremember – blot, don’t rub! guess it doesn’t matter though since i doubt it’d work on paint and nothing’s gonna reverse bleach!

  12. The room is adorable, Julie. I know what it looked like before, and I can tell what hard work you put into it. And Ben, too, of course. I am supposing that the children’s old room will be the baby’s room, right? Have you come up with a name? I did, bu;t you may have missed it. And I think Ben dtold me you had already picked a girl’s name, but had not decided on a boy’s name.

I haven’t had a chance to read over your skit yet. I left it on Jordan’s bed for her to read. I haven’t checked with her. I thought she might have an idea. Luis told me the general idea, and I thought it was very good.

Lainie…”Google” Hydrogen Peroxide. It’s AMAZING what that stuff can be used for. I use it now instead of bleach in our clothes, and I use it to whiten our toilets.

I had to laugh at you , Lainie. You are SO LIKE YOUR MOTHER!! That’s exactly the way it would have gone for me!! For almost 44 years (on October 2), I have been making messes, and Luis Pagan have been cleaning them up!!
So at least I have someone to clean it up and straighten it out. I wish you did, and maybe you will someday. It isn’t too late. You’re still young enough to find someone. Not Tommie.
