Er, Mom: If you can’t log in, how were you able to post this message?

OK, this must be Jordan trying to get on. Jordan, you have to identify yourself otherwise it just looks like Nana is making silly rants:)

Sorry, Jordan, I guess I forgot to sign you up after Maria told me that your last name is “Pagan.”
You are now signed up, with username: jordan and password: jordanp
You can change your password after you log in (In fact, I recommend that everyone do that for security).

Jordan did tell how to know it was her – she said if the message was preceded with a ~ that meant it was her talking!

Ahem, as an official “old fogey,” I must point out that addressing me as “Bill” was also confusing. I would have expected “UNCLE Bill,” perhaps.
*Ahem*

I thought I made a comment about the “old fogey” thing, and the “Uncle” thing, but I must not have submitted it. Here goes again. You have earned “old fogey” status by rights now, Bill, because of your, ahem, there is no way to put this delicately…your age. Therefore, I believe the generation of kiddos in Jordan’s ranks should be addressing your generation as Aunt and Uncle. You addressed your father’s brother and sisters that way, and my brother, also.
It shows respect and good manners. I will straighten Jordan out, and leave it to the others to make the point with their
children.

Well, it’s not as if Jordan is alone. Seay, Hillary and Leah call their mother by her first name. I have seen this in other instances as well (also, Seay & Co. call all of my siblings by THEIR first names, which I could understand for, say, Ben and Maria but not the others).
It’s just me, I guess. The other day at the ballpark I got into a little disagreement with a woman because one of the kids on Ethan’s team (I suppose it was her son) talked back to one of the coaches and I muttered something under my breath about “I’d sit his little butt down on the bench for the rest of the game.”
People don’t see any need for respect for authority much these days. I guess the respect was lost in part because of abuse of authority.
It’s too bad that that disrespect for authority hasn’t translated into distrust of government. It seems the majority of people still expect the government to solve all their problems. If anyone deserves disrespect, it’s the government “leaders” who continue to deepen the mess.

I agree with you, kids should say “Aunt or Uncle”, another thing I have noticed in working sometimes with younger people, kids these days are so much lazier then when we were their age. Its like pulling teeth at work for me to get the kids to do their job.
