CARTOON: Barack Obama & “Bitter” Christians

Norman Rockwell\'s Painting of Mother and Son Saying \"Grace\"

For those of us who’ve never seen it, the above is a famous illustration (cover from the Saturday Evening Post Magazine, November 24, 1951) by painter Norman Rockwell. Of course, while the notion of being “overtly religious” has been a bit unusual for some time (notice the awkward expressions on the faces of the other diners – and this was 1951), now being “religious” is, according to one Presidential candidate at least, a sign of being almost dangerously unbalanced.

Here’s a cartoon I came across earlier today, that illustrates just how “nutty” this really is:

  2. I haven’t been able to make much sense out of Obama’s arguments. I cannot imagine 80% of this country making much sense out of them either. If anything is “unbalanced”, it’s his religious views.

  3. I love the Rockwell painting. Buying the Saturday Evening post was worth it for so many years just to have the front page of his paintings, as my dad had a subscription forever and ever when I was a child.

That’s a great cartoon that guy drew. I can’t make out his name. It was genius and on the mark.
