T-Shirts for Reunion

March 27, 2008 | Reunion 2008

Lainie thinks T-Shirts would be a good idea.  I do, too.  I saw Ruth and Buck McLure’s Reunion photographs of their children and grand-children in their t-shirts, and they were just precious.

I also like Lainie’s idea about getting two colors, in case we want to divide up and play a soft-ball game (in which Lainie wants to beat Ben).

She wants someone to design them.

They will cost $5.00 each.  That’s easy to do, for each of us to send her $5.00 now for each of our family members, so that she can get that done right away.

What think you???

I personally love the idea.

  2. Mom, ask Carmen to design the T-shirts. Thats what she does for a living.

  3. I thought Lainie v. Ben was supposed to be racquetball…

Me, I want to get Seay, Buddy and me together for a jam session.

Bud, you wouldn’t BELIEVE the room full of instruments and gear I have collected. SIX basses, FOUR acoustics, a semi-hollow electric, a Rickenbacker bass on the way plus a “touchstyle” 12-course electric being custom-made for me. Oh, and one of the basses is an “electric upright.”

I need to take a picture of the “studio” and put it up here.

(Plus a big bass rig, plus several smaller amps, plus…)

  4. Mom, how much do they charge to reserve a motel room for 6 days?

  5. oh, I am so excited about the idea of having a musical session by bud, bill and seay. I can’t wait. Buddy, do you think you can sing that song about your friend that died years ago, I can’t remember the name of it, I used to love that song so much, it would make me cry. I miss hearing you sing. We will have to put that on our talent night show. Bill, are you making sure seay, hillary and leah know about the reunion? I got to call hillary and get my hair done, she is the only one I will let touch it, I bet she thinks I have gone all grey now.

  6. Allie took piano but let it fall to the wayside. She loves to sing and has been in choir since Middle School. Jacob plays trumpet and tuba but his love is guitar. He just learned Romanza’ the other day and he was so excited. Adam-Michael plays the saxophone but wants to learn Bass Guitar. I am so happy there are no drummers in the family though Ethan is pondering that possibility. I’ve already told Melissa he will be practising them exclusively at her house. And forget about Guitar Hero, they play it constantly and blow their friends out of the water. At least it makes them familiar with Classic Rock pieces.
I have a small PA and a couple of Mics and stands I bought for Lake’s office opening last year. At least we can sing above the noise. When I get there I will bring a couple of guitars, my Peavey Fury Bass, Jacob’s Alvarez Electric Solid Body, the brass instruments and a keyboard if I can get a hold of one.

  7. this is going to be great, we have a whole band!! I can’t wait, are the kids going to be able to come also? tell Allie and her brothers to start practicing a session, some song she can sing and they can play for her as backup. I think I am going to see if there is a professional photographer somewhere in Fort Payne that we can get for one night, preferrably that friday night. So when we have our big family dinner (to which I got to get planned) and our talent show they can do their thing, Ben, get something together for little ben and lilly to do, Beth, get dillan and ryder ready, Ryder can do his comedy act, you guys will love it. Bill, get your kids ready to. Buddy, you never answered the question about that song? do you remember the name of it? I have no talent, therefore my poor kids cannot sing and/or dance. Crystal can sing but she never persude it. Medicine is her thing, football is Christophers, maybe he can show everybody some stances and poses, :) Lexie is to young, she will just have to show her pretty face, and little James Michael can spit up. Carmen, get your kids ready to. make Jason sing a song, I hear hes pretty good. BOY, THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT!!!

  8. The name of the song was ‘Tim’.
Bet I’ll never remember the words to it.
I wrote it in 7th grade a couple of days after Tim OD’d on acid right in the boys bathroom. Brenda you couldn’t have been any more than 6 or 7 years old when I played that in assembly.

  9. Are you really my children? Don’t you belong to someone else??

By the way. Speaking of talent. Did everyone see where you were supposed to vote for Jason. You could see him in performance. I think it’s too late to vote now. But, did anyone watch the performance? Or were we all to busy with the plans for the reunion. Poor guy. He asks so little. I feel bad that I didn’t keep persuing it. Sorry, Jason.

Back to the reunion. it’s four whole months away.
I’m more excited everyday, thinking of the things you are planning.

Brenda, it looks as if you have been made the chairman of the board, and Beth is the assistant, although she is still isn’t sure she wants the job. What about it, my beautiful second daughter? Or Lainie, maybe you are the assistant. Somebody has to help out.

Lainie…You can go back and look at the motel rates yourself. I can’t remember remember how much they were. Or, I will look them up for you again, and post them.

Brenda, when Crystal was small, she showed tremendous promise on the violin. I wish we could have afforded lessons for her, but everybody was pore as Job’s turkey in those days.

Brenda, I guess we’ll need A room reserved for a dinner, and to give the talent show…right? How much will that cost? We had probably better get that reserved right away, if we’re not already too late.

  10. Mom, it was YouTube! “Voting” for a video on YouTube would be like voting which Iron molecule is your favorite: There have to be a least a BILLION YouTube videos!

BTW, and FWIW, I was REALLY impressed with Jason’s performance. And you know how cynical I am about stuff like that, it’s no small thing if I compliment someone like that.
