Okay, my idea is to rent RV’s and stay at the campground because you are not allowed at the cabins if you aren’t renting one. If you will click on my map of the campground you will see that there is a “pavillion” there for cookout, playground, store, extra bathrooms, beach , hiking trails. There is a place in Gardendale that has the best rateson RV’s (Trust me, I checked around). They have 3 standard which holds 5 people = 15, 4 Large which holds 7 = 28. I counted 54 people so that leaves 12 so that means 2 tents. The total cost including sewage, water, and tent site fees (only $10) per night, and if we call Dave Hughes and say it is for the Polhemus/Pagan reunion is  $64.00 per person for 3 nights. It has to be Monday 28 to Thursday the 31 though. that puts everyone together in one spot and of course there is fishing, paddle boating, swimming, etc. , petting farm, horseback riding. So that is my package Benny. Click on the site above to see pictures of the RV’s. Oh yes, Dave Hughes number is 1-800-327-7799. I cancelled all my other reservations. I suggest you really study that campground map.

  2. I tried to follow Lainie, but couldn’t quite understand the expense. The RV’s are really nice, and I love the little beach, and the other places that are easy to get to. We could all be together.

What else does anyone else have to say?

  3. “…you are not allowed at the cabins if you aren’t renting one.”

Lainie, do you really think they have “cabin police” there who are going to check the receipts to see who’s the REAL Lessee?

I doubt seriously that anyone’s going to complain if you have several relatives going to and fro in the cabin area. This restriction is intended to keep people out who REALLY have no business being back there.

I think we rent two cabins, those are “party central” for the time spent in the park, and otherwise we are meeting wherever to do whatever. No big deal.

Ben’s comments about having to “split up,” while understandable, are missing the fact that we have a TON of people who are going to be coming and going (e.g. my grown kids, who’ll probably be there occasionally but not all the time). It’s inevitable that you’re going to have a LOT of “flux.” The situation that provides the widest latitude for people to come join in, and leave as necessary, is the most practical.

As I see it we’ll have essentially four groups of people who will “overlap.” The first is the “kids,” say up through age 12. They just wanna have fun, swim, eat, swim some more, throw up when overexcited a some conventient place for that, and then back to the top.

Second will be the “teens,” who will mostly be rolling their eyes whenever spoken to by a non-peer, and otherwise comparing CD or MP3 collections and digital photos of boy/girlfriends, etc. They will be joining us for dinner, and little else.

Third, the “young adults,” which probably runs from about Julia (18) up through POSSIBLY Maria (although she’s definitely a “cusp” person in this set). They’ll want to join in with us on some things, but go and do their own things, hopefully together, like clubbing or dancing etc.

Finally are the old ****s, who just wanna talk, see to it that Group No. 1 doesn’t come to any harm, eat and take naps.

The notion that these groups will all coalesce at any time other than mealtime is not very likely, in my opinion.

What we REALLY need at this point is a sort of “trial itinerary” of suggested activities to appeal to these groups as well as to the committee of the whole (i.e. meals).

SO, over to you creative types.

  4. I say get three Cabins. Look above at the other rates I mentioned. I have all phone numbers for anything you need. I think the RV’s are too expensive as well and its too hot in July to camp. About going in the cabin area they put stickers on your car if your renting and only cars with stickers are allowed although we can get around that by having those with stickers pick up those with out.I do think Mom and Dad would enjoy the cabins it is a beautiful location as you saw in my pictures.
