Bill—You are so “over the top”
March 9, 2008 | Uncategorized
Son, you astound me, so something. I’ve been reading some of your “stuff”, and I forget how i got there. About “Sen. McCain” for one thing. Bill, you are a sensational writer. And so funny. Or maybe you should be a talk show host. Or is that Tony? Or Buddy? Or Ben?
All of my sons amaze me, and your brains were picked up somewhere along the way by your dads or granddads or somebody besides me, that’s for sure.
My daughters are plenty smart, too.

I was thinking that too Maria, but you see, Mom has always favored her boys and her last three kids so that leaves me and beth and brenda out.

How could I have favored my last three kids, when two of them were girls, and one of them was Maria?
She was my third leg, trying desperately for five years to get my attention, without any success. Finally, she gave up, when she was six years old, after falling out of our van twice, and our dodge once, when she rolled all the way across busy Highway Crestwood Heights (?). I did take her to the emergency room, and had her hand bandaged up, what else did she expect of me? Of course, when she fell out of the back of the van, when I was going down the ramp off of I can’t even remember the highway, she was sitting there not saying a word, while Robbie what’s his name…Norris…was trying to get my attention, and finally I stopped and put her back in the car. What more could she expect? I told Sister Norris that they were in no danger sitting in the back of the Van. how was I to know that it wasn’t closed properly? Must I be responsible for everything?! I don’t remember the other occasion. But I do remember when Buddy had to give her mouth to mouth resusutation when she was only five weeks old to get her breathing again. He saved her life. She had already stopped breathing, and was a bright shade of blue. He gave her a blessing on the way to the hospital. He said, “But, Mom, I’m only a Priest.” and I said, “You’re the only Priesthood around here,” and so he gave her a blessing, and we got her to the hospital. They kept her for two weeks. luis was away in Pensacola on one of his Active Air Force Assignments (that he pretended to hate, but that he loved).
Of course, that increased my love for my son tenfold over my daughters. I just couldn’t seem to help myself.
I want you to stop it. Just stop it. I love all of you with every inch of my heart. All of it. You amaze me…individually…with your accomplishments. All of you have done more with your lives that I ever dreamed of doing with my own. That place that your are in your life at this moment is truly something to be proud of. You have scuffed and scraped and pulled yourself up by your bootstraps, and you are still pulling. You are ANYTHING but LOSERS. You are people that any mother would be proud to call her own. I am truly pleased with each and every one of you, and you didn’t get there with any help from me. You got there by yourself. Give yourself a big pat on your back for me.
Love Eternally
MOM

Don’t worry lainie, i knew you were kidding. It made me laugh. and mom, my comment was suppose to be funny. anyway, i have to disagree with your second to the last sentence. You’ve helped us all A LOT and never think differently.

I know that all of you like to joke around about me loving the boys the most, etc. etc. We wouldn’t have a as much fun if we couldn’t kid around about SOMETHING!! Of course you know how much Dad and I love all of you.
