Back to a Family Reunion

February 29, 2008 | Uncategorized

Beth called me in the hospital and assured me that she and Brenda were going to hop right on it.  I know what busy, busy lives they live.

Dad and I were talking about it tonight.  It’s easy for us, because we can go to Birmingham anytime.  There should be no trouble in finding a hotel or motel somewhere close to a place that offers fun for children.  Like, Tannehill Park?  Isn’t that a place where they have a sort of lake and beach?  Surely there’s a motel nearby.

Each family should take care of their own expenses.  That includes motel or hotel, and also meals.  We could plan at least one big meal together with adults only, but that would require getting babysitters, which would only be a problem for Bill and Nancy, really.

Maybe there would be a couple of teenagers  from Hoover Ward that could do it, unless Lanie Beth, Jacob, and Christopher, could handle the job at Beth’s house for about three hours, with the guarantee of good pay, and that everything would be put back in order before anybody left the premises.

I’m just rambling, folks!  Just throwing stuff out there!  Places for the kids to play…like parks….or to swim (of course the motels will have swimming pools).  I have no really, good, fancy, new, innovative ideas.

I would just like to see as many of my family members together as possible, relaxing, and having fun.

  2. Let me comment on my own post. I talked to Alex tonight. He’s very interested in joining us in a reunion. He said his 46th HS Reunion is being held on April 26th at Oak Mountain.

How is that place? I only remember a sort of beach there that some of you kids played on when you were little. Tony, Ben, and Maria. I wonder what it’s like now. I wonder if it’s close to nice motels and hotels. I’ll bet it is.

  3. They have camping there, that is what I would like camping. They have cabins if you don’t want tents.

  4. Some people do like to camp. I don’t. I want the comfort of an air-conditioned hotel or motel. Thanks for your input, Lainie, and Maybe somebody else feels the same way. I would like a cabin only if it is full equipped with all of the comforts of home.
