Casey

Casey called me last night from Albany. She finally has her own apartment , it is owned by the treatment center and she finally got 6 months sober so she was eligable. She gave me her home number. It is not a cell number so I told her not to be calling people and running up her bill. Luckily she doesn’t know the phone number of her old friends. The apartment is next door to the treatment facility so she is still required to attend her counciling and meetings there. She is working at Sonny’s waiting tables, she got her GED and now she is waiting to be accepted at Albany State. She will work part time and go to school part time. She said she is paying her own bills now and she sounds so much more mature now. I told her the present Prophet quoted the other day that for the young people to make it now they have to pray morning and night every day. She says she does. She got a blessing in the church as a baby and I wish I had the blessing, but she has a lot of faith. She says she even has money saved in the bank now and the councilors told her grandparents not to buy her a car, she has to save and buy one herself. I am proud of her.

Lainie, I’m so extremely, EXTREMELY happy to hear about Casey! I made her a valentine to send to her, and I want to write a letter, too. What is the address? Also, I found some of your letters that you wrote to me from Grace Way when you were there. I had forgotten that you were the very first resident to walk through those doors. If that wasn’t straight from the Lord, nothing would ever be. At this point, you have forgiven everyone but one person (I think), and that one person should not prevent you from eternal life with Heavenly Father. How absurd. Lainie, you have made the most incredible turn around in your life that I have ever seen any anyone’s life. You are to be an example to all the rest of your family members that may be struggling now. We love you, and appreciate how you have hung in there, and you are definitely hanging on to the Iron Rod.
I would like to send Casey the letter that you wrote on Monday, August 25, 2003; Tuesday, August 26; Wednesday, August 27, 2003; Tuesday September 2, and Wednesday September 3.
Just trust me. I will pray about it some more, and if it feels write, I will mail it along with my letter to her. I just need her address.
I love you with all of my heart Lainie, and your visit on Christmas meant so much to me. Thank you for making the effort, and it turned out so well for you. Teyla will never forget her Aunt Lainie.

Her address is the same 412 W Tift Ave alabany, ga 71301 (check with dad and make sure that zip is right this is off the top of my head). Her letters would mean a lot. I send her scriptures, if you see a scripture of quote in an Ensign send it to her. I am sending her photo album you bought so she can keep this stuff in there.
