We are calling him James Michael, but around the house we are calling him “Bubba” I know, I know that is true Alabama style, but that is what Lexie calls him and it is so cute, I guess its better than “Hey Junior!”
By the way Jaymi was holding the baby last night for one of the few times because he has been sick, and Lexie came into the room and said “No, Daddy, give that back to momma so she can put him back in!!”—–I guess we have some work to do!!

oh, that’s so funny. you have years of funny on your way. try to remember to write it all down. i am hoping to get all these funny things together in a book. EVERYONE keep jotting down the funny things the kids do. i know they will love you read them when they get older.

“Put him back in!! Oh, my goodness!” That brought to mind something about Bill, when I was pregnant with Lainie. It was in April, and I was about to “pop”. Bill was two years and seven months old.
He wanted to know why my stomach was so big.
“Oh no!” I thought to myself. “I hoped he didn’t notice. What do I tell a kid only 2 1/2 years old?”
Well, let’s try the truth. I dried my throat, and said, “Bill, Mommy is going to have a little baby brother or sister for you. The baby is in my tummy.”
Bill gave me that dead pan look that he was so famous for, and maybe he still is. Nancy? Anyway,
he said, “How are you going to get it out?”
“This is really bad.” I thought. I wasn’t prepared. I didn’t think he would notice. Or I was so stupid that I didn’t prepare answers.
“Mommy will go to the hospital. The doctor will put me to sleep, and the doctor will take the baby out, and when I wake up, he will put the baby in my arms!” Oh, please let him buy that and go away.
“Oh”, said Bill. “He will take a knife, and cut that baby out of your tummy.”
Satisfied, Bill walked awake, and I was left a trembling heap of something that resembled jello.
I intended to be prepared the next time, but strangely it never came up again with any of the other kids. Just Bill.
Now, about “Bubba”. Is that because she can’t say “brother”. My brother got the name of “Buddy”, because I was 18 months old, and I couldn’t pronouce “brother”. It came out “Buddy”, and that stuck. Anyway, so far, he is James Michael.
Buddy, I knew that Adam’s name was hyphenated. At least, you jarred my memory. I’m glad he wants to be called Adam. That was my preference, so from now on, he is “Adam” to me.
