Karate Lessons

Dylan is very excited about attending his first karate class tonight. This morning he informed me that he had already been given some lessons during a school demonstration. I asked him to show me a move that he learned. He said, “Ok, Mommy, walk near me like you are going to get me”. I proceeded to approach him and he stuck his hand straight out in a halting manner and announced in a very firm, commanding voice “Stop! Don’t come near me Ranger!”
(you know how mean those Rangers can be…)

After all Beth I do have that video on my phone where Dylan is showing me how he can jump up and down on one foot and swoosh his hands at the same time, its amazing!!!

Unless he means a TEXAS RANGER baseball player.
Ask anyone in the American League. They’re not scary a bit.
(I wish we had a video of Dylan playing the guitar and stomping his foot, back during Papa Luis’ retirement party).

Oh, here’s one from Amaya (referring to her brothers who were being rather boisterous in the car on the way home from church): “Oh, they’re so silly! They’re freakin’ me out!” (It’s funnier if you envision a just-turned-five year old girl)

My grandchildren are amazing! You should have seen Teyla tap-dancing tonight. Like a real pro, and she’s only three and never had a lesson. As Bill said, it’s funnier if you envision it. Let it just float through your mind. And now Dylan is doing these fabulous karate moves, and Amaya is talking like a teen-ager…and THAT’S FREAKING ME OUT!!

There is nothing more precious than innocence. I regret not writing down all the things they’ve said through the years. I’ll use this site to record some of the better ones. Thanks Bill!! Love you guys!
