Oatmeal Fudge

I have decided to take up the mantle of Oatmeal Fudge Cookie maker in my home as Julie only makes brownies and they give me gas.
She was somewhat upset that I felt the need to bypass her Sunday treat commenting, “Well, I guess my deserts just don’t compare to Maria’s Oatmeal Fudge cookies!” and then there was weeping and something about not being good enough to which I just responded “I didn’t say you weren’t good enough, just your brownies.” Then more crying and somehow I ended out on the couch.
So anyway, I need the recipe, anybody got one? Maria?

oh, that is so funny. i make oatmeal fudge every once in a while, but they are rarely as good as the ones maria use to make, BUT…i can NEVER get her to make them for me. MARIA!! WE NEED OATMEAL FUDGE!
I don’t know which ones you should try. They are all kinda different. I definately like the ones with peanut butter. wait, do they all have peanut butter? See, i really don’t know.

Okay, Ben, here’s your recipe:
Take a dose of humility, add one rounded tablespoon of abject apology. Mix in a bowl with the milk of human kindness, and stir it around in your mind awhile.
Then go ask your wife to let you out of the doghouse.
And never, ever, ever criticize a single thing she does for you ever again. Serves a liftime.

Ben, gas is a very small price to pay for happiness in the home.

Poor, poor Julie. I say this because she has to be married to you. well, as for the good recipe it’s in one of the old church recipe books mom has. i’ll try to remember to look for it next time i’m there.
