The Punch Bowl

December 14, 2007 | Ad-MOM-ishments

Buddy, it’s not the same at all.  The coffee table and the punch bowl, I mean.  I’ll never recover from the bowl.  Really, I’ve tried telling myself that it’s only a material thing of the world.  Somehow, it hasn’t helped.  I hope St. Peter can have it all pasted back together and give it to you at the Pearly Gates :)

Bill, the Grandfather Clock still sits in the garage waiting for you to pick it up.  When we had our garage sale a few months ago, a few people naturally wanted to buy it.

  2. St Peter took the Punch Bowl for a Grand FHE we’ll have there one day.
I would steal that Grandfather Clock from Bill, Mom but when I was about 3 I woke up in a half sleep and saw a Tiger jumping out of it coming straight after me from the hallway and I haven’t been very fond of it since:) Don’t know what it was about me and tigers?

  3. Oh, i miss the punch bowl too. definately not the same.
Didn’t that grandfather clock have license plate looking things in the bottom of it with animals or something? or was that the chimney? I swear i remember something like that.

  4. Carmen… those things at the bottom of the clock were actually Lunch Box plates. Our wonderful Papa Luis moved us down here to B’ham from Sacramento, CA when I was 9 years old. He had just gotten out of the Air Force and I cannot tell you HOW many jobs he worked to get us fed and settled and in a house and more babies came along, etc. He worked at warehouses and Arby’s Roast Beef and I can’t tell you how many other places until finally he got on at the Post Office. I believe it was a warehouse or an assembly plant that either made or shipped lunch box plates to be pressed into old metal lunch boxes and he came home with a bunch of them for us to look at and perhaps decorate the kids rooms with and there they stayed for years:) They could well be collectors items by now:)
