Bad News for Christmas
December 13, 2007 | Whining
Well, everyone has bailed out of the proposed Christmas trip.
First, Leah told me that she didn’t want to go, “too busy.” Hillary, likewise. Then Julia told me she wasn’t interested because she has “lots of fun things planned in Mobile.”
Finally, the other day Seay emailed and said he’s starting a new job, and he’s really sorry so HE can’t go either.
So basically, we’d be making the trip and spending boo-coodles of money just to add a lot of noise to the festivities. Buddy won’t be there, Beth won’t be there (don’t remember if Brenda will or not). And I’d be out ten days’ pay.
So we’re canceling the trip. Sorry, but I guess “family togetherness” just isn’t what anyone wants in their stocking anymore.

I am so sorry Bill, that makes me feel so bad for you. My kids are still young enough that they don’t have a choice but to see me. I took away Casey’s car and phone and money so she doesn’t have a choice. I think when your kids have kids of their own one day maybe then they will “get it”.

I know how you feel, Bill. My oldest son just cancelled out on me. I’m at an age now where I just hope i’ll be around next Christmas. Carmen and I just rearranged all of the gifts, and filled up everyone’s stockings today. Oh, well. I am truly sorry for you, son. I am. Maria, Carmen, Jason, and the little ones will be here. I was just in my room, longing so much to see my parents again. I literally ache to see my mother. I don’t want to have you lose your ten day’s pay, but you might end up actually having a wonderful time here with us. Give it a second thought.
